A total of 19 UniFirst employees recently completed the company’s flagship, award-winning professional development program, the UniFirst Management Institute (UMI). These individuals were recognized during a graduation ceremony on September 30.
Developed to support the career progression of UniFirst field managers and general managers, UMI recruits high-potential employees from company locations throughout North America. The program requires comprehensive training in business acumen, performance improvement tools, and leadership methods. Forums featured key UniFirst leaders and focused on strategy, operations, finance, and adaptive leadership.
Thanks in part to the success of the program, UMI has earned notable accolades over the years, including a Leadership 500 Excellence Award for outstanding achievements and innovation in leadership development and programs. Several operational improvements have also been made companywide thanks to the forward-thinking mindset of UMI participants and graduates.
“The completion of the UMI program is an incredible accomplishment,” said Steven Sintros, UniFirst President and CEO. “These graduates should be recognized for their personal determination, their devotion to UniFirst, and their positive impact on UniFirst’s business. I congratulate the 2021 graduates and extend my best wishes as they begin the next steps of their professional journeys.”
